Program Overview
The Association
for Career and Technical Education of Wyoming is pleased to again offer an
opportunity for you to get more involved in your professional
association. This program allows members to receive an insight into the
workings of ACTE, WACTE, and all the affiliate organizations that make up
these associations. By attending a number of pre-planned events, those
selected to become a fellow will learn about policymaking connected to
career and technical education at the local, state, and national level.
Through this training process you will become an effective advocate, a
strong leader, and a valuable member of WACTE. Our hope is that with this
training you will step up into a position of leadership with your
affiliate, state, or national professional association.
There will be
at least one in-service session for the purpose of training the Fellows
for the activities they will participate
in. Additional training and planning sessions may be necessary as the
requirements for each activity may vary.
A selection
committee, to be composed of WACTE officers and Fellowship Interns, will
identify the 2004-2005 Fellows. No more than two new Fellows will be
selected. The most important criteria will be the applicants’ ability to
demonstrate the support of their local administration and the narrative
part of the fellowship proposal.
WACTE
encourages local school districts to support a candidate(s) for the
WACTE fellowship program. Districts may commit to financially sponsoring
a participant in the fellowship program. The program of work activities,
the application process, and the selection criteria will remain the same.
The submitting district will agree that this is a candidate they will
sponsor and final agreement for selection will be at the discretion of the
WACTE Fellowship selection committee.
WACTE
will cover some travel costs as needed and approved by the
Fellowship Committee.
